Guilty verdict in tourism theft case

A verdict has been reached for a woman charged with stealing money from Starke County two years ago.
WKVI reports Jennie Carter has been found guilty of stealing $7,000 from the Tourism Commission in June 2011.
She allegedly wrote a check to the Indiana Department of Revenue for taxes, and told the board that it was because a previous employee had not had payroll taxes taken out of the paycheck.
Carter will be sentenced March 25th.
