A group of students and faculty from Indiana University School of Medicine - South Bend have let their razors get a bit dusty over the last month.
They've been growing their mustaches in a competition called “Stash Bash” to raise money for St. Margaret’s House of South Bend.
“They always enjoy growing their mustaches,” organizer Michelle Kerr says. “Their favorite part is finally shaving their mustache into a unique shape. They always take some sort of theme with their mustaches.”
“I think a 15-year-old can give me some competition right now,” says Andres Piscoya, who’s been growing his mustache for the competition for the past four weeks. “We’re giving the ladies a good laugh, and we can’t wait to shave all this off.”
The competition has raised $2,400 so far, with a goal of $3,000.
Stash Bash is Monday at 6p.m. at the Raclin-Carmichael Hall Atrium on the IU School of Medicine-South Bend campus. Dining is $2 per person, and attendees can bid on gift baskets.
The man with the best mustache will be announced as the Stash Bash winner.
