“Fair” weather this week has been a great boast to the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair.
Fair leaders say this year's attendance is expected to hit a record high.
The weather has been in the high 70's to low 80's, a dramatic difference compared to last year when burn bans were in effect and the weather was in the mid 90's.
Also fair leaders say they lowered the admission prices this year hoping to attract to more families.
“Earlier this morning I visited some of the vendors and everybody is up,” says Fair Board President Lee Slavinskas. “Compared to the last few years yesterday was one of the best day our vendors have had in years. I know our attendance at the gate was the highest in the last 5 years.”
According to St. Joseph County Fair Leaders this year's attendance is expected to exceed 80 thousand people. The average is typically around 70 thousand people while last year around only 50 thousand people visited.
