Calling all hungry diners! Not sure if you're in the mood for pizza, steak or a fresh salad. Well there's a new restaurant in Michiana that will let you sample all three!
Mishawaka's Golden Corral is now open, and controlled chaos is the perfect way to describe the business's grand opening. More than a hundred gathered for the grand opening at 11 a.m. Monday and many made sure to arrive early.
Despite the early arrivals, many still stood in line for over 15 minutes. The restaurant is locally owned and is fully staffed with local residents.
The owners brought in a handful of employees from California and Texas to help train the new Michiana staff. Owners say even though Golden Corral is a national food chain, the one in Mishawaka will stand out.
"I think it is our value that we offer,” says Pam Zahart the Owner of the Golden Corral. “We have a fun place for people to go, we have a good value, a lot of choices, we are family friendly. I think we offer a lot of stuff that the community is going to like.”
And Zahrt says she takes pride in the fact that there's not a microwave on site. She says everything is made fresh and right in front of the customer.
The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
