Geans arraigned in Burns murder case

The man charged in a murder case that went cold for nearly 26 years was arraigned Monday.

43-year-old Phillip Geans is accused of murdering Theresa Burns in January 1988.

Burns was a student at Mishawaka High School at the time. She was found lying on the floor of her home in the 400 block of Dittman Street with multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

Geans is charged with murder, a felony. He was charged on December 13th.

A hearing has been scheduled for January 6, 2013. During that hearing, trial and record dates will be set.
