GOP's Pence 'encouraged' in Ind. governor's race
Republican Mike Pence says he's encouraged about his prospects of defeating Democrat John Gregg in Indiana's governor's race.
Pence voted Tuesday morning at a fire station in the Bartholomew County town of Clifford about 25 miles south of Indianapolis. He says he's feeling "very encouraged and hopeful" about his prospects of becoming Indiana's next governor.
The Indiana congressman says he ran the type of campaign he'd hoped to run, calling it a "positive campaign that was about the future."
Pence's 18-year-old daughter Audrey cast her first vote Tuesday. Pence joked that he feels "pretty good" about his chances of getting her vote.
Pence is facing former Indiana House speaker Gregg and Libertarian Rupert Boneham in Tuesday's election to succeed term-limited GOP Gov. Mitch Daniels.
