Funeral arrangements set for murdered Cass County woman

Funeral arrangements have been made for a Cass County woman who was murdered last week.

Last Friday, Martha Sexton was found stabbed to death in her Mason Township home in the 19000 block of U.S. 12.

Sexton's brother, 59-year-old Edward Hensley, is accused of killing her and is now facing a charge of open murder.

He made his first court appearance via video conference earlier this week where a judge denied him bond.

Prosecutor Victor Fitz said Hensley stabbed Sexton at least eleven times in the throat, neck and back.

After stabbing her, he took off and was later found in Elkhart.

The prosecutor said Hensley still had the murder weapon, and admitted to killing his sister.

Hensley returns to court July 12 for a preliminary exam.

Services will be held for Sexton on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, located at 1911 South Main St. in Goshen.
