Funeral arrangements made for father of three who died in icy crash

A car accident in Niles on Thursday left an Elkhart man dead, now funeral arrangements have been made for anyone wishing to pay their respects to the victim.

Alan Steven, 27, lived in Elkhart with his wife, Amanda, and their three young children. Since he was in high school Alan has worked his way up the administrative chain to supervisor at Shelton’s Farm Market in Niles.

He was driving to work on Thursday when he lost control on the ice on Redfield Rd. and skidded into the path of an oncoming truck.

Services for Alan are scheduled for Monday, March 25 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles. A visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. with the funeral service to be held immediately afterward.

Memorial donations may be sent to Amanda Steven, C/O Brown Funeral Home located at 521 East Main St. in Niles. A fund is also being established for Alan’s children in his memory.

Those wishing to leave a message for the family or upload a photo of Alan may do so on the funeral home's website or Facebook page.
