Free sandbags available in St. Joseph County

With water levels rising and a Flood Warning for the St. Joseph River in effect until next week, the St. Joseph County Emergency Management Agency is making sandbags available for folks who live in low areas.

You can get those sandbags at eight different locations.

The locations are the Southwest Central Fire Stations two and four, Clay Fire Stations two and four, Penn Township Fire Stations one and two, the South Bend Street Department and the Mishawaka Street Department.

The County Emergency Management Agency says the bags are free, but you will have to assemble your own bags at most locations.
