Drastic drought times have also called for drastic drought measures to our south.
A watering ban went into effect on Friday afternoon in Indianapolis as the national weather services said the circle city is in the middle of its driest spell in 104 years.
That ban means the Indiana War Memorial Fountain in downtown Indy isn't running on Friday.
In fact, across the city, all water fountains are idle.
While the water in the fountains is re-circulated, more has to be added from time to time because of evaporation.
So the city joined the effort to conserve water by shutting off all of the fountains.
