The city of South Bend is ready to wheel and deal on property long associated with a used car lot.
The city owned parcel on the southeast corner of Lafayette and Western Streets is being offered to the highest bidder.
The land was long part of the Gates Automotive complex that the city bought earlier this year.
There is a minimum bid.
“We by law have to get two on this one, commercial MIA approved appraisers and the average of the two appraisals came in at $82,500,” said David Relos, South Bend Redevelopment Specialist.
The bids are due September 13, 2012.
