Former Notre Dame star working as a crossing guard

Former Irish basketball great and NBA Hall-of-Famer Adrian Dantley spent years guarding opponents on the court. Now, he's guarding schoolchildren as they cross the street.

Dantley enjoyed a legendary three-year career for Notre Dame in the '70's, when he was named a first-team All-American twice.

He went on to play 15 seasons in the NBA, most notably for the Utah Jazz, and last year became the fourth inductee into Notre Dame's Ring of Honor.

The six-foot-five star athlete has recently taken up a much different job. Dantley started working as a Crossing Guard last September at an elementary school and middle school in Silver Spring, Maryland.

He grew up in the area and says he took the job for the health care benefits and to have something to do. Dantley says he enjoys giving the young students high fives and encouragement.
