NILES, Mich. -- NewsCenter 16 has learned new information on the recent resignation of former Niles Community Schools Superintendent Richard Weigel.

According to the Niles Daily Star, 15 administrators in the Niles Community Schools sent a letter to the school board saying Weigel bullied coworkers, created a hostile environment and that they had "no confidence" in his ability to lead the district.

The Star says the letter likely created the momentum that ultimately led to his resignation earlier this month.

The letter was sent three weeks before Weigel's resignation on March 5.
