Former Hoosier among those killed in SXSW festival car crash

AUSTIN, TX A former Hoosier was one of two people killed when a car plowed into a crowd during SXSW.

SXSW, which stands for South by Southwest, is an annual arts festival held in Austin, Texas.

On Thursday, a driver gunned a car through a street barricade and into a crowd of festival attendees.

Two people died and approximately 25 were injured.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jamie Ranae was one of those killed. She was at the festival with her husband, Evan, who was critically injured himself.

The pair grew up and lived near Fort Wayne, before relocating to Austin.
