Helping hands kept hundreds of hungry hearts fed and nourished for the next week.
Thursday afternoon, Benton Harbor's Abundant Life Church teamed up with the Community Action Agency to feed those in need.
A Feeding America truck stocked full of milk, bread, fresh fruits and veggies parked behind the church, as a team of volunteers supplied 300 residents with food for their families.
People began lining up as early as 8:30 a.m..
When gates opened at noon, that line spanned an entire city block.
"There is absolutely a great need, everybody is hurting, they don't have enough money to buy food, so this is a solution," said Yvonne Vidt of the Southwest Michigan Action Agency.
Because the food handed out today should only last for a week, another drive is scheduled for next month. People needing food must sign up to receive food from the drive.
