Fire burns vacant home, investigation underway

An investigation is underway into what caused a fire at a home on South Bend's West side Friday.
The fire started just after 3:00 Friday morning.
The two story home in the 400-block of South Philippa Avenue was furnished, but vacant, while the homeowner worked refurbishing it.
Because of that, utilities were still on.
Neighbors called 911 when they saw flames.
Most of the damage was on the second story.
Nobody was hurt.
