One of the biggest motocross races in the nation is rolling into the area, and while Redbud fans are some of the most devoted there are, they're facing some challenges in this heat.
Organizers of Redbud National are taking extra precautions in Buchanan. They're bringing in emergency cooling stations and purchasing extra tents for simple shade.
Thousands of campers, on the other hand, face more challenges. Some are taking unique steps to stay cool, including one family, which brought a pool for the kids.
“Its real hot we got here last night and set up camp and pretty much sweat all last night with a box fan, its over 100 degrees right now,” says Leland Payne who is camping at Redbud. “Ran to Wal-Mart and got a little pool for the boys, Mom and Dad are just sweating it out.”
Even though it might be slightly cooler for the race on Saturday, officials are warning everyone to stay hydrated.
