Family and friends gathered at VFW Post 88 in Elkhart Saturday to remember Mark Miller and raise money for his five children.
Miller went missing in early September.
Two weeks later, his body was found inside a barrel in the St. Joseph River, near the Six Span Bridge in Elkhart.
Police say Miller was brutally murdered, but they haven't made any arrests in the case.
While family and friends wait for the person responsible to be caught, they're focusing on Miller's children.
From noon to midnight Saturday, they held a benefit in his honor.
The event featured live music, homemade food and several raffles.
All of the money raised will be divided between Miller's five children.
People can also make donations to the Mark Miller Benefit Fund at any 1st Source Bank.
Donations can also be sent to The Mark Miller Benefit Fund, 500 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.
