Help is on the way for parts of Michiana that are struggling with the costs of damages from a long, hard winter.

FEMA approved Indiana Governor Mike Pence's request for federal aid for 19 counties. Locally, Kosciusko and Noble counties qualify for grants. Aid requests for Elkhart, Fulton and LaGrange counties were denied.

The grants will help pay for damage to roads, pipes and other expenses.
