Elkhart woman involved in accident that shut down U.S. 31 for four hours
An Elkhart woman was involved in a 4-vehicle accident in Miami County that closed down U.S. 31 for more than four hours Thursday.
38-year-old Ellen Badillo was parked at a red light on U.S. 31 and State Road 218 when she was rear ended in a domino-effect collision. A semi hit a pickup, which then crashed into Badillo's Jeep and another vehicle.
The semi driver was killed in the accident. Badillo was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
