A former Elkhart County businessman will spend the next four decades in prison for sexually abusing his stepdaughter.
Last week, a judge sentenced Jose Rodriguez, 50, of Goshen to 40 years behind bars after he was convicted on four counts of child molestation.
During the trial, the now 20 year-old victim testified that the crimes began when she was only ten. She said Rodriguez showed her a pornographic video and promised to teach her how to perform what was being depicted.
Both her mother and her younger sister told the jury that they had each walked in on Rodriguez and the victim during a sexually inappropriate act, but they had been persuaded to ignore what they had seen.
