An Elkhart man pled guilty in federal court to distribution of child pornography, a felony offense punishable by a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Jeffrey Cripe, 38, appeared in court before Magistrate Judge Christopher Nuechterlein on Jan. 18, and stated his guilty plea. The charges against Cripe were brought up after an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigation and the Indiana State Police.
Judge Nuechterlein has recommended that the district court accept Cripe’s plea, but both sides have 10 days to state any objections to the recommendation.
Sentencing for Cripe is scheduled for April 18, 2013.
