The armory on North Main Street is being demolished.
According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the redevelopment commission voted to get rid of the building.
The vote came after months of effort to find someone to rehab the building.
Indiana Earth was chosen among nine contractors to demolish the building.
The work is scheduled to begin in the few weeks and will cost around $130,000.
