It can be hard to get high school students up and out of the door for school.

As any teacher will tell you, the most important part of the day is just to show up.

Lochmandy Motors partnered with Elkhart Memorial High School for the Ninth Annual Car Giveaway.

The company gave away a 2005 PT Cruiser to one lucky student who qualified for the drawing by missing one or zero days of school.

Krystal Grubb took home the car.

She is only a freshman, but says she has no problem waiting the year and a half until she can get behind the wheel.

She also plays tennis, and says that was a big part of her making it to school every day.

This year, 284 students out of Elkhart Memorial's 1,800 students qualified for the drawing.

That is about 120 more than last year.
