Elkhart Mayor criticizes state in State of the City address

In his annual State of the City address Wednesday night, Elkhart Mayor Dick Moore warned the city that state legislators are threatening the vitality of Indiana communities.

The Elkhart Truth reports that his message was overall positive, touting the city's economic recovery and the number of jobs created in recent years.

However he criticized the state for being too involved in city operations.

Before beginning his prepared remarks, Moore spoke about the water and sewer compact dispute, expressing frustration about the state's continued interference.
