More rave reviews are rolling in about Elkhart County's rebound from the recession.

Elkhart County has been named the number county in job growth in the country.

The report that was released shows that Elkhart County's employment increase of six-point-nine percent outpaced the national job growth rate of one-point-six percent among other counties across the country.

Recently Elkhart County has had two big announcements, with Thor and Drew moving their corporations there, bringing in hundreds of jobs.

Plus manufacturing is bouncing back, which makes up nearly 50-percent of the county's base.

“I would just say it's capitalism at its best,” says Dorinda Heiden-Guss from the Economic Development Corporation of Elkhart County. “It's the passion of the environment. It's a professional business of the environment.”

The unemployment rate in Elkhart County is about nine-percent which is quite an improvement compared to four years ago, when it was around 18-percent.
