A man is in the hospital after reportedly being stabbed early Saturday morning.
At 5:47 a.m. emergency personnel were called to address a stabbing in the 900 block of Sixth St. in Mishawaka.
A 21-year-old man from Hammond, Indiana, was stabbed in the lower right abdomen and taken to the hospital, conscious and alert, for treatment of his wound. He is in serious, but stable condition.
Police say there was a party going on inside the house where the stabbing took place, and are now interviewing the 25 people who were inside to try to determine what led to the stabbing.
NewsCenter 16's Gabby Gonzalez spoke to a neighbor who said this house has been a source of trouble in the past, that is a frequent party house, and that they have called police to complain.
Neighbors also say beer bottles and unfamiliar cars are not uncommon remnants of parties at this particular address. But they also noted that last night seemed fairly quiet for the neighborhood.
Mishawaka Police Dept. confirms they have responded to this particular address for several for noise complaints.
