After years of service, a Downtown South Bend health club has abruptly closed. A letter dated December 28 is posted on the front door of Pro Health Fitness Center on St. Joseph Street.
The letter states the club was sold to a private owner in 2004, and several cuts were made in an effort to stay open. The fitness center says it can no longer absorb the costs.
Members who've paid their fees will receive a refund within the next 45 days.
