A Dowagiac High School student has been waived to circuit court, facing several felony firearm charges.

Phillip Kocsis, 17, made an appearance in Circuit Court Wednesday, after being waived from District Court.

A date was set for his arraignment. Eight charges have been filed against him, six of them felonies.

In September Dowagiac School Resource Officers were tipped that a student had weapons in his vehicle on campus.

The officers searched the vehicle and found a 12-gage shotgun, a M1 Rifle, ammunition for both and a k-bar knife.

Kocsis is out on bond, and will be in court on December 3.
