A popular youth center Elkhart, destroyed by fire, will come down Wednesday.
Demolition on the building that formerly housed Lifeline Youth for Christ is set to begin at 8a.m.
The fire that destroyed the building in September began at the old Tony's Shoe Store building and spread to lifeline and an apartment triplex. The youth center was severely damaged, and only the gymnasium is believed to be usable.
Since the fire, Lifeline has held activities in various locations, and the number of children who attend has actually grown by some 25 percent.
The executive director says negotiations have begun to build a new center.
