Friday marks an important deadline for St. Joseph County residents behind in paying property taxes from the spring of 2011.
Friday is the deadline to pay up, or face fees associated with the property becoming certified as tax sale eligible.
Payments must be received in the St. Joseph County Treasurer's office by the close of business Friday.
That's on the second floor of the County-City building in downtown South Bend.
Meantime, the deadline to make sure delinquent property does not become part of the tax sale itself is September 19, 2012.
