Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels isn't answering questions about whether he's going to become Purdue University's next president.

Daniels declined to answer questions from reporters Wednesday
morning about his future following an economic development
announcement event in Indianapolis.

Purdue's trustees are scheduled to vote Thursday on hiring a new
president and WISH-TV and The Indianapolis Star cited sources they
didn't name as saying Daniels would be the pick.

Daniels said Wednesday that he believes changes are needed to
how higher education is approached. He says more people who've
attended college have loan debt than degrees and that situation
can't be sustained.

Daniels' time as governor will end in early January because of
term limits.
