Night time is no time for kids to be out on the streets.

And in South Bend Thursday night, nearly two dozen juveniles found that out the hard way.

All were picked up for violating curfew, because they were under 18, and out on the streets past 11 p.m. without adult supervision.

It was part of the South Bend Police street crimes unit's curfew sweep throughout the city.

Officers detained 21 juveniles, between the ages of 11 and 17.

Police said these sweeps will continue throughout the summer at various unannounced locations and dates.

And just a quick refresher of South Bend's curfew laws...

If you're under the age of 15, it's 11 p.m. no matter what day of the week it is.

If you're 15, 16 or 17, curfew is 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 1 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

There are some exceptions for church or school related activities...
