Berrien County, Mich. On October 3, 2013, Rebecca Kershaw, 31, was killed in a hit and run crash, and police are still looking for the driver responsible.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. in Benton Township, in Berrien County.
Kershaw was walking alongside the road when she was hit. Her mom says she was at a party that night and believe she was walking to her mom's house at the time, which was just a few miles away.
Investigators say evidence at the scene leads them to believe she was hit from behind by a 2001-2007 GMC Denali, which is a large pickup truck.
Kershaw died almost instantly.
The truck is believed to have damage on the front driver's side.
"For some many of these cases, especially a hit and run fatality like this, we can probably assume the person didn't intend to do what happened that night and quite likely the person who is responsible for this is suffering from some issues with their own conscience," Kilgore said.
