A South Bend teen's homicide remains unsolved now eight months after the crime.
Thursday on 16 Morning News Lt. Cindy Kilgore and the victim's mother, Karen Taylor, joined us to discuss the case.
On July 20, 2012, 18-year-old Charles Roberts was sitting on the front porch of his mom and stepdad's home. Kilgore says it all happened in the evening, shortly after 6 p.m., at 1101 N. Adams St. in South Bend. Roberts was with two of his best friends when words were exchanged between them and a group of 4 or 5 other black males, also in their teens. One of them opened fire and hit Roberts and one of his friends.
Roberts' injuries did not appear to be life threatening at the time but he later died in surgery at the hospital.
