People typically turn to Craigslist for online listings for classified and personal ads, housing and other sale items, but two Michiana residents got more than they bargained for when they were robbed by a potential buyer.

The armed robber has already targeted two individuals in Michigan using the site as a means to arrange meetings.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday, and involved a victim from the Three Oaks-New Buffalo area, while a second victim from the covert area was robbed on Wednesday.

Both individuals had arranged meetings with the buyer. Once they arrived at the designated meeting place, the suspect asked if he could hold the items and then walked off with them. When the sellers tried to stop him from stealing their product, they say he pulled out a gun.

Fortunately, the suspect fled without injuring either of the two victims. He is described as a six-foot tall, slender, African American man in his twenties who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt during the encounters.

Anyone with information about the suspect and the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
