Coveleski Stadium getting a new look for the Blues and Ribs Fest

It's the second year for the Blues and Ribs Fest, and it will be twice the size.

That's why the South Bend Parks Department decided to hold the Blues and Ribs Festival at Coveleski Stadium. Last year it was at Howard Park.

This is the second year for the fundraiser to help support Miracle Park, a special needs facility in the works on the city's northwest side.

This year there will be 5 blues bands from around the country playing.

“We are trying to make great strides within the South Bend Parks Department to develop a special needs park. What better way to do it than to have the community be able to join and listen to some great entertainment fantastic newly renovated venue all for a great cause,” says Mark Bradley of South Bend Parks and Rec.

Gates open at 11 a.m. Saturday. Opening ceremonies are at noon, where children with special needs will walk in together in a procession as part of the fundraising efforts.
