County commissioners held a meeting Tuesday, to discuss the consolidation of a 911-dispatch center.

The St. Joseph County leaders agreed to have some of the initial work done on the dark site, which is the South Bend Police Department.

The price of which will be equally split between the city of Mishawaka, the city of South Bend and the county.

The commissioners hope all of this leads to a better dispatch center.

Complete construction on the new dispatch center is expected to be finished in 12 to 15 months.
