County asked to weigh in on water compact question

The county has been asked to get involved in a water disagreement between Elkhart and the Valley View Hills Subdivision.

The Elkhart Truth says
resident Jon Nelson presented a claim to the city Monday night that says the county considers shutting off sewer service an "unnecessary health hazard."

The city has threatened to turn off water and sewer service Wednesday to those who refuse to sign a new compact agreement which changes the way they pay for those services.

The council has not verified making such a claim, but reports say it could be presented to Mayor Dick Moore sometime Tuesday.
