School may be back in session for most Indiana students, but it's also still construction season

A construction zone crash landed a young female driver in the hospital Wednesday.

The woman was driving west on the U.S. 20 bypass near the Mayflower exit when she hit a parked truck in a construction zone.

The driver of the truck was in the vehicle and tells police he saw her sliding sideways toward him.

The crash happened with enough force that the woman, while conscious, had to be taken to the hospital via ambulance.

The driver of the truck had no injuries.

Workers remind drivers to be aware of the construction zones on the bypass and everywhere else. It is still summer and construction season
