Architectural rendering of renovated Memorial Hospital Skyway Bridge and Skyway Building facelift.

Anyone driving through downtown South Bend has probably noticed that road construction cones are back up near Memorial Hospital. That construction will slow rush hour commutes for the next couple of months.

They've been working to build a new skyway bridge there for the past several months.

The lane restrictions on Michigan Street were lifted for a while back in February, but now, once again, traffic is down to one lane each direction.

Construction is expected to last through the middle of June.
