Here's further proof that it is indeed a small world, economically speaking.
Some 23 computer data centers now operating across the world will be consolidated at South Bend's Union Station.
Several contracts with multinational companies are now being finalized that should put the Union Station technology center in South Bend near capacity.
“We've been successful on a number of fronts different contracts this year where we've been used as a primary compute site for multiple multinational companies,” said Kevin Smith of Union Station Technology Center. “And so our growth will be in excess of fifty percent again this year.”
Most of the relocations are out of the European platform.
Smith says the contracts should create between 10 and 20 new jobs at Union Station and produce millions of dollars worth of investment in new equipment.
