Community actors present Shakespeare Festival at Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival brought crowds to campus Sunday, offering an eclectic collection of the famed playwright's work.

About 100 actors and directors took to the stage, attracting crowds more than 500 people during the two-day event inside Notre Dame's historic Washington Hall.

Organizers say the best part is that the actors were all members of the community, including students from St. Mattew Catholic School, LaSalle Academy and Trinity School at Greenlawn.

“It's a pretty wide radius of community groups and community leaders that are becoming more and more interested in this particular program," said Artistic Director Jay Paul Skelton.
