ELKHART, Ind.--- Six south-central Elkhart gas stations were raided in June for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana.

Now, some community organizers say the area was targeted for the sales because it's a low-income neighborhood.

Our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth spoke with Jason Moreno, community organizer for LaCasa, and Rod Roberson, Executive Director for Church Community Services.

Both said they believe drugs were sold there because of the correlation between poverty and drug use.

Now they say more needs to be done to educate the community on the drug's effects.
