Michiana Renaissance Festival offers a step back in time

Mishawaka can take a step back in time on Saturday and Sunday, all the way to the Renaissance era.

The fourth annual Michiana Renaissance Festival for was held on Kamm Island in Mishawaka.

It runs August 23rd and 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event is put together by the Mishawaka Parks Department and the local non-profit group Entertaining History, Inc.

Those attending can see live stage acts, sword fighting, games, face painting for the kids, and much more.

Not only are events like this meant to be entertaining, but they are also educational, especially for young people.

The festival also helps the community. People are encouraged to drop off a canned food items to receive money off their ticket price. The food is then donated to area food pantries.
