It is back-to-school day for Saint Joseph High School students, and this year it is in a new building.
School started at the new Notre Dame Avenue location Thursday, at 8:15 a.m.
Students can expect a lot more than just a new building, including a one to one laptop program and other new technology in the classroom.
Many students came to campus early Thursday to check out their new school, and were excited to be a part of the new St. Joe.
"I think it's really great that we have this whole new school, because it really brings us together as a family, and it's just amazing that we could raise this much money to build a whole new school," said one student.
"All the sports that are going on and being able to learn in the new school and use all the technology for that,” remarked another student. “I'm sure St. Joe students are going to be able to do things that are great."
"I'm probably most excited about the air conditioning," said another student.
Their start time is another new adjustment for St. Joe students and teachers. They are starting classes about 15 minutes later this year to avoid any conflicts with St. Joe grade school busses in the neighborhood.
