City supports raising minimum wage

BENTON HARBOR The city of Benton Harbor is taking a stance on an issue that affects thousands of low-wage workers.

WSJM reports that the City Commission passed a resolution in support of raising Michigan's minimum wage. Commissioner Trenton Bowens wrote the resolution, which supports raising the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour by 2017.

People around the state are signing petitions to get the issue on the Michigan’s November ballot.
