A church secretary who plead guilty to using the postal service to help embezzle $119,000 is expected to be sentenced Thursday.

Jayne Loprest worked at Hilltop Lutheran Church from 2001 to 2009.

Church leaders say some of that money was used to pay the property taxes on her Granger home.

In 2009, the bank contacted the church when the bank's account was overdrawn.

Board members confronted Loprest about the money and she apologized.

Hilltop Lutheran filed a civil suit against Loprest but it was dropped when she agreed to pay back the money she took.
