Two children in the back seat did not stop one Elkhart man from driving a car under the influence early Friday morning.
Police pulled Antwoine Thomas, 30, over at around 2:00 a.m. on Friday for a traffic violation. Thomas failed a field sobriety test and reportedly blew a .09 BAC.
Because a six year-old and an 11 year-old were inside the vehicle as well, Thomas’ over-the-limit blood alcohol level made the offense a felony. To add to the list of offenses, Thomas did not have a driver’s license with him when pulled him over.
This is not the first time Thomas has run in with the law, according to officials he has a prior conviction for the same DUI offense, and more than half a dozen arrests on record including domestic battery in front of a child, theft and credit card fraud.
