Chicken Ordinance to be voted on early next month

The public is being invited to weigh in on South Bend's proposed Chicken Ordinance.

On December 5, the Public Health and Zoning Committees of the South Bend Common Council will hold a joint meeting on the subject. The meeting will start at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

A proposal that would allow up to a half dozen female chickens to be raised in the backyards of city residents is eligible for a final vote at the next council meeting on December 8.
